CFR/AED – Cardiac First Response

Course Overview

This CFR course will allow participants who wishes to develop their knowledge and skills a level of competency required to bring to emergent situation in the case of CFR (CPR) for adults, infants and children. This course will include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use. Additionally participants will develop skills to respond to foreign body airway obstructions, as well as the administration of aspirin for cardiac chest pain and perform a FAST assessment for a stroke patient.

All courses are awarded a Summit Safety Training Services certificate at request and must be identified prior to training taking place.

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at individuals who wish to train to a level that will allow them to safely administer life saving care to someone suffering from Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack, Choking or Stroke.

I received this training within my workplace, can I use it outside of work if needed?

Yes, of course. The training you received will allow you to respond to any of the scenarios practiced on the course inside and outside of the workplace.

The primary aim of the Good Samaritan Act is to encourage bystanders to help individuals who are injured or in peril without the fear of being sued for their actions. This law is designed to reduce hesitation in emergency situations, allowing people to act quickly to assist others in distress.

You can assist in an emergency where CPR is required and you are the only person to administer it, calling for help 112/999 the Medical Controller will advise you on what to do. However, It is better to be trained and not need this skill, than to need it and not be trained.
