Course Overview

This course provides all participants with the relevant knowledge and attitude in Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults at risk of Abuse. Trained by a certified Designated Liaison Person and Safeguarding Officer (DLP), the DLP will look at how to recognise, respond and report any alleged, confirmed or suspected cases of abuse. This course also features the topics of historical and open disclosures.

What do you mean by a ‘vulnerable person’?

A Vulnerable Person, is an adult who may be restricted in capacity to guard himself / herself against harm or exploitation or to report such harm or exploitation.

No, anyone working within a Care or Support Service including home care, schools, private residential services, nursing homes, any member of the public can attend a Safeguarding Course to build on any existing knowledge and develop their attitude towards a ‘Zero-Tolerance’ Policy against abuse.

Within National Policy, all Services adopted the Zero or No Tolerance towards Abuse ethos, meaning that any concern raised must be investigated by a Designated Liaison Person or other Competent Person to reach a conclusion, safeguarding plan if required and supports for the vulnerable Person.
