Course Overview

This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge around key legislation, Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005, Manual Handling of loads regulations (General Applications) 2007. Demonstrate Safe Patient Handling techniques that can reduce the risk of injury to both the employee and the Patient. This course is tailored directly to the needs of the workplace and is facilitated by a QQI Level 6 Instructor.

All courses are awarded a Summit Safety Training Services certificate at request and must be identified prior to training taking place.

Summit Safety takes the Safety, Health and Welfare of participants seriously, learners will be asked to declare any medical conditions and/or injuries. All courses come with a Safety Brief prior to any practical demonstrations and/or physical practice. Learners must be fit to train.

Yes, the training takes place not only to develop your skill but to further safeguard both you and the patient/client.

Equipment used within Patient Handling Courses include, Wheelchairs, Hoists, Slings, Profile Beds, Sliding Sheets, Belts, Banana Beds, Stand Aids, Frames and Walkers. Your employer must provide the equipment that is documented on Risk Assessments.
